We’ve been in our new house for six months now and we have done loads to the house both inside and out but you wouldn’t know it by looking at it! Still, some little touches are beginning to show through, including the appearance of the bulbs I planted in Autumn. The excitement of buying an older house is the unknown, and although that can sometimes be a bad thing, I’ve been pleasantly surprised with my garden. Along with lots of interesting plants and trees that we didn’t realise were here, many bulbs sprang forth from apparently nowhere.
I planted this ring of crocus bulbs around my favourite bamboo – a tree which we’ve had in a pot for many years. It seems to have really come to life since being transplanted into the ground and the ring of crocuses have made quite a feature in an otherwise quite shambolic garden.
