Bringing together six ‘wedding industry’ businesses based (or with roots) in Somerset, the wedding inspiration shoot comprises blues and yellows – bold designs, golden summer sun and ‘country garden’ styles.

Out with the old (DVD-style case) and in with the new (metal case) for our wedding photography CDs. The case is the same size as the old plastic DVD csaes so that it fits nicely on your DVD rack, but looks, feels and just is much more luxurious, sleek and sexy! The cases are much harder-wearing than the DVD cases, which is important as digital media is as much a keepsake as a traditional wedding album.

I have enlisted an assistant, to assist with weddings and portrait sessions. In general, wedding and portrait photography doesn’t offer much work for an assistant: Photogrpahers who offer posed compositions for the majority of their work inevitably require much more assistance with controlled lighting and general ‘faffing’ with wedding dress trains and the like. I find that I can multi-task sufficiently during most weddings. I have however recently had an upsurge in bookings based much more on artistic wedding photography, and for this an assistant is invaluable.

I took Jemimah to Bristol Harbourside this week, for a shoot full of variety. The old cranes and trains offer a very intricate, unusual backdrop to portrait photography. Along the riverside, many colours and textures are on offer – in the form of buildings, doors and other surfaces.

I have a wedding on the Bristol harbour side in May, and this shoot was excellent preparation for that. The bride and groom are very ‘into’ their contemporary art-based photography and these locations offer everything they could want!

All of my wedding photography clients have full rein when it comes to the style of their wedding photography. Locations of shoots can be close to the ceremony, the reception, or en-route. With time on our side, we can also go much further afield. I have a vast knowledge of fantastic ‘shoot’ locations within Somerset and the South West. For weddings further afield, I will always visit all venues, and their surroundings before the big day, and if some location photography is what you’re after, I shall seek out some fantastic locations for your perfect day!

‘The Guestbox’ wedding photo booth is offered as part of a wedding package or seperately for birthday parties, corporate events and weddings where no photographer, or another day photographer is present. The width of the Guestbox is changing to maximise the amount of guests that the background can accommodate, while keeping the whole kit portable. The Guestbox photobooth offers an entirely different form of evening entertainment and work well alongside music-based entertainment, or in a quieter side-room, using our own funky music to create a different ambience.

A new take on the current DVD presentation is on the cards. The new style DVD case will be smaller, sleeker and much more durable. A revised cover design will breath new life into this product, and as a complementary extra, five mounted ‘photographer’s choice’ prints are to be placed in the left-hand side of the case which will provide clients with a tangiable product, in the gap between proofs and album, and will act as a reference point for print purposes.
