How many weddings do you photograph every month?
I accept a maximum of two weddings per month in order to ensure that each wedding is completed to a high level of creativity, with maximum attention to detail. My wedding photography tells a story of each wedding and this can only be achieved when I am able to immerse myself into the details of each individual celebration.
What is your shooting style?
I shoot continually throughout the day, in a style that tells the story of the day – some call it reportage or candid photography – it is, however, more than that. I also take requests for posed photographs, plan a ‘bride & groom only’ shoot to take place after the ceremony, in or around the grounds of the venue.
We would like a few ‘traditional’ photographs. What should we have?
I tend to expect my clients to want some traditional wedding photographs. I always include photographs of the rings, cake-cutting, the cars etc. in my list of standard shots, so these will be planned to fit in with the running of the day. If you would like a set of group photographs, this can also be planned to fit with the timings on the day. I do however recommend that you select no more that ten group photographs in order to spare yourselves and your guests all that waiting around.
Do you offer a pre-wedding photo shoot?
Each wedding booking includes a complimentary pre-wedding (engagement) shoot
When should we expect to receive our photographs?
Your photographs (either proofs, or your high-res CD – depending on your package) will be posted to you within two weeks of the wedding.
Can I book you for my destination wedding?
Absolutely! With each booking, travel within Somerset, Wiltshire, Dorset and Devon is included. Travel within the rest of the UK and to worldwide destinations will come at an additional cost and this can be included with your initial quote, to ensure that you are clear on these costs.
What photographic equipment do you use?
I use professional grade equipment to ensure reliability and capture images of the highest quality. I also carry back-ups of each piece of equipment to ensure that everything runs smoothly on the day.

Why do wedding photographers seem so expensive?
I can only speak for myself, and not for other photographers when answering this question. I like to think that I offer transparent pricing, which is why instead of offering ‘package’ prices, I offer individual products from which a package can be put together by the client. My pricing is worked out based on the following:
Hourly Rate:
In addition to the time I spend photographing your wedding day, my hourly rate takes into account the ‘behind the scenes’ time spent on each wedding such as travel, meetings and venue visitations pre-wedding and CD/proof compilation, post-wedding. A photographer’s hourly rate also has to cover the large overheads of running the business, such as the expensive photographic equipment, specialist insurance, travel and office costs.
High-resolution CD:
The price of the high-resolution CD is in line with my transparent pricing policy. The price reflects the time spent digitally
processing your photographs after the wedding. Every photograph is individually colour balanced and cropped to achieve the best results.
Custom Wedding Album:
My range of wedding albums are handmade to order, by me, in my Somerset studio. The price comprises the cost of materials used and the amount of time taken to make the album (including digitally processing the photos). Where an album is purchased with the CD, a discount is available as processing, colour correction and retouching only needs to be done once.
This is in contrast to the majority of wedding photographers who outsource their albums to other companies, simply marking up the cost in order to make a profit when selling it on to you.
